Sans Stevie
Although the majority of ticket holders would have gladly done without Ms. Nicks, there were Stevie Nicks fans at the concert. The Wiz was his typically energetic, young at heart self. The two styles did not mix well, and people around me groaned every time Stevie came back on stage to sing. The numbers they did sing together were horrible and were only bearable because The Wiz carried them. Ugghh!!!
The musicians were fantastic, as were those wonderful back-up singers that The Wiz had sing one song with him. Forget Stevie and use them instead. I disagree with a previous review that said songs from his "American Songbooks" would bomb. This audience would have swooned and loved any of these or The Wiz's oldies.
